The Durham Folk Party of 2011 celebrates its 22nd birthday this year by being the same as it has been in previous years 'a right old song and dance'.
Camping is at the Durham Amateur Rowing Club at the end of Green Lane and will cost £12 for the whole weekend. The party begins with a singaround in the Dun Cow led by Dave Howden while, in the Rowing Club the dancers meet for a get-together. Later there will be the inevitable 'singing in the showers' at the Rowing Club.
There'll be singarounds and musicians sessions in pubs such as the Dun Cow, and the Shakespeare during the day on both Saturday and Sunday and there'll be dance teams performing around the city centre with the famous massed displays in the Market Place.
On Saturday Evening there is a singaround in the Rowing Club.
Sunday evening sees the close of the party with a Survivors' Singaround in the Rowing Club.
All events are free and all are welcome.
