Durham Tourist Guides invite you to join them on a guided walk to explore the heritage and culture of Durham City. Find out what a vennel is and what powers a medieval Prince Bishop of Durham enjoyed. Discover the ancient story of St. Cuthbert, see public works of art and explore the story of modern day Durham. All walks include the historic Market Place, Saddler Street, Durham Cathedral (exterior) and Durham Castle (exterior). Friendly, informative and professional Blue Badge Guides will help you discover the charms of Durham. The guided walk includes the World Heritage Site. Walks take place each Saturday and Sunday from May to September, once a day at 2.00pm. Walks usually last between 1.5-2 hours. Booking is not required but please contact the Visitor Contact Centre on 03000 262626 the Friday before for confirmation of the walk. If for any reason the walk has to be cancelled, a poster will be put up in the Town Hall window. Private walks for groups and regional tours available by arrangement.
