Bishop Auckland Food Festival is the region’s biggest food event, growing year on year hosting a whole programme of events and activities.
The food and drink market will feature lots of familiar faces as well as some exciting new additions, with an expanded street food and artisan drinks quarter. You’ll be able to eat your way around the world from America to Greece and Thailand to Mexico, as well as sample some of the finest regional cuisine, courtesy of the North’s foremost producers.
The markets for BAFF 2017 are in the Newgate Shopping Centre and Bishop Auckland Market Place.
The wonderful Tom and Henry Herbert (stars of Channel 4’s Fabulous Baker Brothers) make a welcome return to BAFF, but this time they're are inviting you into the kitchen.
If you would rather sit back and watch the professionals at work, the inimitable Rosemary Shrager will be cooking up a storm in the demonstration kitchen, using the very best of Durham produce.
To get the royal seal of approval for your efforts, why not join Rob Kennedy for one of his masterclasses on Saturday?
The fabulous richard Fox is back, and will guide you through the creation of some delicious cold dishes in a series of masterclasses.
A must for all you chocoholics out there! Learn how to make caramel filled chocolates and hand roll your very own dark chocolate truffles, then bag them up to take home to impress your friends (or scoff on your own!). All guided by our expert chocolatiers from Truly Tempting Chocolate.
The festival has joined forces with Manford’s Comedy Club to bring you a night of side-splitting stand-up and fabulous food (it is April Fool’s Day after all…).
Chocolate workshops for children - heaven for children! Learn how to hand pipe a chocolate lollipop and make a marshmallow caterpillar before coating it in chocolate and decorating it to take home. Messy, gooey, sticky, chocolaty fun!
Children's cookery school - It's time to put the fun back into food! We have lots of different classes for all of those budding junior chefs out there - but book early to avoid disappointment.
