The Assembly Rooms - Durham Student Theatre

Durham Student Theatre is the name for the umbrella organisation which supports all of the theatre companies operating within the university. Consisting of approximately 800 members it is one of the largest and most talented student societies in the UK. Every year hundreds of plays are performed during term time and vacation period tours annually take students to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, America and even to Kenya. The range of theatre produced through DST (ranging from Shakespeare to educational events) makes it an ideal attraction for anyone living in or visiting Durham, as there will always be something to suit everyone. The wide range of theatre also gives way to an array of differing locations around Durham (including venues such as Durham Cathedral) which breathes life into some of the more historic sites of the city.
