As we look ahead to spring, we're giving you the chance to send a free e-postcard featuring photos from across the county, so you can now share your experiences with friends and family.

In December we gave you the option to send a Durham Christmas e-card, and many of our social media followers said it would be a great idea to have the option all year round, in the shape of a post card.

So we have made some changes and now you can send a Durham postcard choosing from 20 photos from across the county, from city to countryside and coast.

You can choose from iconic images including Durham Cathedral and the views from the city's riverbanks, 11th Century Durham Castle and medieval Crook Hall. There are photos of some of the county's amazing attractions too, including Beamish - The Living Museum of the North, and Locomotion, the National Railway Museum at Shildon.

Browse through photos of Durham's breathtaking countryside, and choose to send a postcard of the stunning landscapes in the Durham Dales and North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, or select some of the must-visit cultural and heritage attractions including Raby Castle, Barnard Castle and The Bowes Museum, or natural wonders like High Force and Low Force waterfalls.

If you're here on a walking or cycling break, why not send a postcard to those back home to show family and friends what they're missing - choose from Hamsterley Forest or the spectacular views of unspoilt countryside that you're enjoying.

There are photos of the Durham Coast too, the dramatic sunrise captured from high above the cliff tops, or a wonderful capture of "Tommy", the moving World War One statue in Seaham.
