Van Mildert College

Van Mildert College and Conference Centre is situated in a lakeside setting, with peaceful surroundings. We provide friendly, courteous and efficient service for your relaxing break, and welcome tourists, groups and families.

The historic city, Cathedral and Castle are all less than a mile from the College, which is situated between Durham's Oriental Museum, Botanic Garden and Mount Oswald Golf Club.

A river boat trip or a visit to Durham's World Heritage Site are within easy walking distance. Further afield major attractions include Beamish Museum, the National Glass Centre, Lindisfarne and Hadrian's Wall.

Our Tunstall Suite is Visit Britain 3 star rated. Each of the 30 en suite bedrooms have central heating, radio/alarm and tea making facilities. Our standard rooms, all with wash basins, provide affordable accommodation for groups.

A spacious friendly lounge/bar and adjacent foyer can accommodate 150 for receptions or other social occasions. The Ustinov Room has a theatre licence and audiovisual equipment and opens into the Gallery Concourse, with its own coffee bar.
