Tucked away in a peaceful and friendly village,this stone built, single storey, detached property has been converted to provide good holiday accommodation for couples. A 1 bedroom cottage with living room, bathroom and kitchen. The bathroom has a shower, bath, toilet and washbasin with instant hot water. The kitchen is very well equipped with refrigerator, microwave, cooker and washing machine. The whole cottage is oil fired centrally heated with an additional multi-fuel stove in the living room. There is a TV, DVD/video player and radio. The cottage is completely self contained with private parking space and access to the shared garden from where you can enjoy good views of the surrounding fells. There is the availability of a barbecue and garden furniture for sunny weather. Up to 2 pets welcome. All bed linen, towels and fuel for stove in the lounge are provided. Westgate is a small village in the heart of the North Pennines. The village situated on the A689 Wolsingham to Alston road has a village store with a Post Office and a pub which offers bar meals. Stanhope is only 6 miles away and has more facilities including pubs, cafes, the Durham Dales Centre and Information Centre and an outdoor heated swimming pool open from May until September. Durham City with its historic Cathedral and Castel is only 26 miles away as is Bishop Auckland and the Bishop's Palace. Penrith in Cumbria and the Lake District are just 30 miles.Weardale is beautiful walking country and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty ideal for peace and relaxation. There are also opportunties for cycling and other outdoor activities. The historic Bowes Museum, High Force and Low Force Waterfalls, Beamish museum and the North of England Lead Mining museum are all within a 30 minute drive. Newcastle, Hadrian's Wall, Hexham, Hartlepool Marina, the Sage and the Baltic - Gateshead, Holy Island and Bamburgh Castle, Shildon Locomotion - to name but a few more of our important attractions and places to visit in the North East.
