This delightful and spacious holiday cottage has a truly special feel to it. Adjoining another property, it is situated on the village green, overlooking a 15th-century manor house used by Henry VIII as his hunting lodge. The inspiration for its restoration has been taken from the romance of the medieval times, and with panoramic views bordering the unspoilt Raby Castle Estate, this really feels like an undiscovered part of medieval England. Set within a picturesque valley, the area is perfect for cyclists and walkers who can explore the dales and magnificent cathedral city of Durham. Nearby activities include riding, fly fishing, steam railway and Raby Castle - Britain's best preserved and furnished medieval castle. Shops 100 yards, pub nearby.

Spacious, beamed living room with gas 'log-effect' fire, rugs on slate floor and sofa-bed (for +2). Spacious farmhouse-style kitchen/dining room with oak units, Belfast sink, window seat and slate floor. Bathroom with roll-top bath, shower attachment and toilet. Oak staircase to first floor: Minstrels' gallery. Double bedroom.
