Your hosts, Morlene and David, are born and bred country folk with extensive knowledge of the Teesdale countryside. Morlene was a farmer's daughter and David, having lived and worked in Teesdale nearly all his life, produced, among others, "Beautiful Teesdale, A Country Lad at Home" - now Teesdale's most popular and successful film.

Teesdale is within the North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It also encompasses Baldersdale, the dale made famous by Hannah Hauxwell, daughter of the Dales. The area is richly diverse with wooded valleys and heather-clad moorland.

Raby Castle, the Bowes Museum, High Force and historic Barnard Castle are some of the many nearby attractions.
