An 18thC watermill situated in a gorge carved out by the River Greta. In Teesdale on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park - a rolling landscape of sheep pastures divided by ancient stone walls and moorlands. Our nearest neighbour is the sheep farmer half a mile away and the only sounds in the Gorge are the rush of the river and the sounds of hawks, owls and pheasants.
Easily accessible to ‘The Lakes’, Hadrian’s Wall and the North York Moors.
Living areas incorporate the mill wheel, and machinery. ‘en suite’ power shower and family bathroom with generous bath, super king sized, double bed and additional bed-settee (then sleeps 6). Wood-burning stove. Direct river views.
Energy self sufficient with a micro-hydro turbine, heat pump and solar panels.
