Boot and Shoe Cottage lies on the south bank of the River Tees at an ancient crossing from Yorkshire into Durham. It has had a colourful past, combining use as a pub and a cobbler and has now been sympathetically restored.
The cottage is fully-furnished, equipped to a high standard and is very cosy, with night store heating and double-glazing throughout. All linen, electricity, coal and logs are included and a welcome basket of groceries is provided. Gold Award - Green Tourism Business Scheme.
Downstairs - sitting room with open fire, kitchen/living room with log-burning stove and French windows overlooking the garden and river, utility room and WC. Upstairs - double bedroom, 'attic' twin bedroom, bathroom and landing.
Set in the heart of Teesdale, one of England's most beautiful and unspoilt areas, Wycliffe is close to the historic market town of Barnard Castle and makes an ideal base for exploring the surrounding area.
Teesdale is home to the renowned Bowes Museum, High Force - England's highest waterfall, the medieval stronghold of Raby Castle and many small, picturesque villages.
